a 2013 XV Crosstrek on 5/22 from Putnam. I knew what I want and thought
I knew everything about the car. I was part of a VIP Subaru program, so
a lot of the hassle of haggling was left out. This being my first
experience buying a car ever, it was much more enjoyable than I thought.
The reason for that was Dominic Chang. He works in internet sales and I
emailed him for a quote. He came in on his day off to help me look
around and test drive the cars. Financing was also very helpful.Car
update: I am at ~1000 miles right now and am getting 30.3 mpg on
average with both city and freeway driving, but 80% freeway.-Peter C.
Burlingame Subaru, WOW! This place is awesome and if you are looking for a Subaru, definitely ask for ADIL. Adil is the BEST.
I
woke up on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and wanted to go see what
we could trade in our Forester for. I had spent time the night before
looking at deals online at both this dealership and other dealerships
and found a smoking deal at a dealership in Sacramento area, advertised
online.
All I was looking for was a base model, and hopefully a deal similar to the one in Sac.
Since
we live in the East Bay, we went over to Walnut Creek Subaru first, and
on the way I called Burlingame and spoke with Adil. I told him the vin #
of the base model I saw at his dealership (online) and asked if he
would offer the same deal. He asked for my number and said he would call
back.
So we get to WC Subaru and as I get out of the car we are
approached by a sales guy. I tell him the same thing I told Adil, and
showed him the vin for the base model showing available on his WC lot.
Do you think he shows me that car? NO. He shows me 3 luxury models. I
asked him over and over to please show me the base model and tell me if
he would honor the same deal and he told me he would sell several cars
that day and to stop wasting his time. JERK. I cannot recommend that
dealership and will yelp them separately.
Fast forward back to the AWESOME ADIL at Burlingame.
So we leave WC and I call Adil to tell him we are on our way and he confirmed he could give me the deal we wanted.
When
we arrived he had the car pulled to detailing and immediately walked me
to that car, not a dozen others, but the actual car I WANTED. He also
had all of the paperwork ready, the numbers ready, and (a great sales
tactic) my name on the envelope with the manuals for the car, placed on
his desk.
NO HAGGLING, NO TIME WASTING...PURE EFFICIENCY, which was crucial since my 21 month old daughter was in tow.
We
get the numbers figured out exactly...get a fair trade in value for our
car, and we leave for lunch while they finish the remaining details.
When we get back we go to financing, sign the papers and we are done.
My
husband kept wondering what the catch was...how did we walk right in,
get exactly what we wanted and not have to fight for it? Because this
place rocks, thats why.
Inside the trunk of our old car they had
placed several fabric bags for all of our belongings (which sadly we
filled to the brim as we had not planned to necessarily leave with a new
car and did not clean out the old one at home before) I thought this
was a nice touch.
Adil snapped our photo in front of our new car, we got in, said goodbye to Stella, the old car, and drove off into the sunset...
Go
to Putnam Subaru in Burlingame folks, its a straight up kind of place.
Ask for Adil, he will treat you right (and Cartier in financing also, he
was super nice, patient, and explained everything in normal terms for

I've lived in the Bay Area all my life and I am very familiar with the
Putnam name. I have purchased vehicles from Putnam Chevy before. Â This
time I wanted to purchase an AWD vehicle and Subaru has one of the best
AWD systems so I went to Putnam Subaru in Burlingame.
I first
thought I was going to get the typical car salesman act. Very pushy and
always trying to stuff me in a car that he gets a bonus on so i was
prepared for a long day. I arrived and I was greeting with a BIG SMILE
from Nestor. Â He seemed like the happiest and nicest car salesman I have
ever met. He offered me water and I drove many different vehicles. I
wanted to do some homework after my test drives and he gave me his
business card and didn't try to push me into any one vehicle.
Two
days past and he gave me a friendly follow up call. Asking me if I had
any questions and offered me an extended test drive. I accepted and took
the car home for the night.
I value customer service and to keep a
long story short I purchased my Subaru Outback from Nestor at a great
price . I highly recommend dealing with Nestor at Putnam Subaru. You
